Shirley Bradley Memorial Scholarship
· Involvement in State or Regional activities promoting Histotechnology. (Career days,open house, lab week, participate in state meetings)
· Demonstrate motivation and reason for wanting to attend meeting .(changed jobs, need to learn new skills, promoted, graduated from school, student, etc)
· Current member of VT/NH society is required (NSH membership not required)
· Immediate past winners and professional instructors/educators in any Region 1 Histotechnology program are not eligible.
· The candidate must write a letter detailing how he/she meets the criteria.
· In addition, he/she may submit a letter from a supervisor or coworker detailing qualifications.
· Letter must be submitted by March 1, 2009.
· The officers of the VT/NH society will determine selection by late March.
· Scholarship recipient must provide a brief written summary of their experience at the Region I meeting to the president for publication in the newsletter prior to reimbursement.
Please submit all applications by March 1st.
· The recipient will receive:
§ 2 half day workshops or one full day workshop
§ General registration
§ One night stay

REGION I EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
Region I is proud to accept applications for the annual educational scholarship fund. A worthy candidate must meet the following criteria:
• Financial Need
• Membership in any Region I State Society or NSH
• Involvement in State and Regional activities promoting histotechnology
• Demonstrate motivation and reason for wanting to attend a Region I Meeting
The candidate must write a letter to the Region I President detailing how he/she meets the above criteria. Also, he/she must submit a similar letter from his/her supervisor or a peer. Selection will be determined by the Region I President and his/her committee, consisting of two Region I State Society Officers.
• The scholarship recipient will receive up to $500 towards travel, accommodations, and registration to attend the 2009 Region I Histotechnology Conference.
• Scholarships will be awarded to TWO deserving recipients for this meeting.
Expenses for the award must be submitted to the Region I President within 30 days of the meeting and are given on a reimbursement basis. There will be TWO scholarships, up to $500 each, awarded for this meeting.

· Must be an individual who exemplifies the characteristics of a future histotechnican
· Demonstrate motivation and reason for wanting scholarship.
· Immediate past winners of program are not eligible.
· The candidate must write a letter detailing how he/she meets the criteria. Please include email address/ phone number.
· Attach a transcript of your grades.
· In addition he/she may submit a letter from supervisor detailing qualification.
· Letter must be submitted by March 1st.
· The officers of VT/NH Society will determine selection with the consultation of Barb Brothwell.
· A check will be presented during Lab Week in April.
· The recipient will receive $200.00
